Glassdoor Names UNCOMN’s Jason Carter a Top CEO

By

Based upon reviews from UNCOMN team members, Jason Carter has been named a Top CEO in the U.S. small-medium business category by Glassdoor.

Glassdoor, one of the world’s largest job and recruiting sites, released its annual award highlighting the Top CEOs in several countries throughout North America and Europe.

Jason appears on the U.S. SMB list, due in part to recent efforts towards…

  • Surrounding himself with an outstanding leadership team. In the last year, UNCOMN has promoted two new equity partners, hired two new outside VPs, and promoted three new Directors to the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Implementing new initiatives that support UNCOMN’s value of Prioritizing People. Our 2021-2025 strategic plan is titled Doubling Down on People and outlines the steps the company is taking to make an already strong people environment even better.
  • Improving his tastes in whiskey. Jason attributes his mysterious absence from this list in previous years to drinking inferior libations. Through meticulous attention to detail and rigorous sampling activity, he is now confident his bourbon selections are worthy of Glassdoor’s stringent selection processes.

Jason’s first board meetings were in the back of his Volvo. Ten years later, that work shows by being named a Top CEO of 2021 and UNCOMN being a Best Place to Work in 2021.

As a CEO, he has always been transparent about the business and upfront on what he thinks makes an organization successful:

My role is to foster a culture where the people with the best information are making the decisions. That’s very rarely me and ideally those as close to the ‘edges of the enterprise’ as possible. By articulating our values, creating clarity around our organizational goals, and unleashing the creative capacity of our people, we’re able to both succeed and make UNCOMN a fulfilling place to exercise each team member’s particular brand of ‘uncommon genius.’

That type of employee empowerment results in not just company success but giving people the ability to “work hard. play hard.” Whether it’s happy hours, community involvement, or team building events at Special Forces training facilities, Jason’s approach allows everyone’s uncommon genius to shine– both on and off the clock.

Did you know that UNCOMN was also a Glassdoor Best Place to Work in 2021?

CEO approval ratings are gathered through Glassdoor’s online company review survey, which gathers current and former employee sentiment about job and company satisfaction, the work environment, and the culture. Employees are asked to rate a number of workplace factors like compensation and benefits as well as work-life balance and asked whether they approve, disapprove, or are neutral about the job their CEO is doing. In addition, employees are asked to describe some of the upsides and downsides of working for the company and provide any advice for senior management.
